Michael De Pippo is an award winning Canadian Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Art Director with over 12 years of experience across multiple mediums including brand identity, illustration, packaging, advertising, web design, broadcast and environmental design.
Michael believes that strong design is far more than making things look pretty; it requires critical thinking and comprehensive research to understand the target audience, design problem and the corporate goals of the client.
Michael’s passion for design has lead him to create many side projects outside of his full time job. In 2011, he created a series of vintage concert posters for The Muppets, which ended up steering his career into exciting territory. After posting them on his blog, the posters went viral and were eventually licensed by Disney and sold online.
Since then, Michael has been working with companies like Mondo, Acme Archives, Dark Hall Mansion and Acidfree Gallery to create officially licensed poster artwork for Disney, Pixar, The Muppet Studios, Warner Bros, LAIKA Animation Studios, Peanuts, Hasbro, Cartoon Network, and more. Additionally, he began taking part in group exhibitions at art galleries and Comic-Cons throughout North America.
Michael’s illustration work has received international recognition through publication and awards; including Applied Arts’ coveted Creative Excellence Award (AACE) for two consecutive years in 2012 and 2013.
Michael now works full time as Art Director Animation for Nickelodeon in New York.
